Ryan Shernaman, Attorney at Law
Point of View
Ryan offers strategic, unique solutions to clients’ complex issues. His unrelenting pursuit of clients’ interests and outside the box thinking enables him to secure optimal results. Due to Ryan’s affinity for legal research, he stays abreast of evolving case law and is constantly expanding his breadth of knowledge. His passion for the law and dedication to helping his clients is evidenced by his strong referral base. Ryan possesses the innate ability to see the big picture and identify solutions for clients before they are even aware of the problem. While solving the problems of today, he also recommends long-term solutions that will satisfy clients in the future.
Ryan’s background in the business world also gives him an edge over other lawyers. His real-world experience in management and operations gives him a distinctive perspective and insight into his clients’ businesses and enables him to offer a blend of legal experience and business strategy to complement corporate management.
Ryan grew up in Columbia, Missouri, where he started riding dirt bikes at the age of three. When he turned 14, he began racing motocross and fell in love with the sport. As an amateur, he won nine Missouri State Championships. After graduating high school, he moved to Dallas, Texas for a year before settling in Springfield, Missouri. While in Springfield, he worked his way through college by starting as a Shipping/Receiving Manager, moving up to Operations Manager, and finally serving as Chief Operating Officer for one of the Top 50 Honda Dealerships in the United States. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s in Criminology and a minor in Sociology.
After college, Ryan relocated to Kansas City where he enrolled in UMKC’s School of Law to pursue his passion for the legal system. Post law school, Ryan worked at a boutique bankruptcy law firm for several years before ultimately deciding to open up his own firm in order to be able to combine his business background with his desire to provide the best legal representation for his clients.
Ryan is married to his high school sweetheart, an accountant. They have two daughters in middle school school who enjoy cheer, gymnastics, swimming, and soccer. In the spring and fall, Ryan can be found riding motorcycles with his daughters or playing soccer with his daughters.
When time allows, Ryan enjoys traveling with his wife and daughters. He particularly likes traveling abroad and has been to several countries including Australia, Mexico, Colombia, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.
Ryan gives back to his community through donations to several organizations, including the United Way and the Salvation Army. He is also very involved with the Alzheimer’s Association as an active contributor and advocate for “A world without Alzheimers”.
